A friend (and huge CC/SG fan) said something similar to me when I sent him Ricky's cover of S&B featuring Alain Johannes, which will be part of an album of original songs, to be released in October. Look to @rickyliontones for his original music (he already has an EP and full album out). Why have a tribute band on the side? I would bet you are aware how difficult it can be to make money as an independent artist with their own original music. If the tribute band can help pay some bills, and they love & respect the music while doing it justice and making people happy, I certainly don't begrudge them the opportunity.

@DaveClark-ib6sp relatively new guitarist for the band (their founding member Paul Kamp retired from the group after the January shows). This guy seems pretty solid. Apparently, he also plays/played in a Grateful Dead tribute. Jarrett Philip Donaghue is the new Page for LZ2

He said something to the effect of "keep in mind that..." or "you'll have to excuse..." before they started the song, but it was unintelligible to my ears. I'm not sure he expected to be brought up on stage, but I get the impression he has performed with the band before.

@Juaquin-fe6rx there may indeed be cause for concern... I don't know. Honestly don't know Deftones music that well (I was there to see the Soundgarden tribute), and had to read up afterward on the significance of him being there and his link to the band via his late brother, so I didn't know in the moment if he was just drunk or if there's a serious issue.

@ozcarzcccc 😂 New guitarist this time around, but I'll just tell you that this band sells out a couple performances at HoB every January in Chicago, tour nationally and even internationally. They put on an entertaining show.
